Artifacts And Unique Treasures

Artifacts are either the handiwork of the gods or the crowning achievements of the finest mortal craftsmen the world has ever known. In some cases magic or even mundane items have become artifacts through an association with a legendary figure who bore them. All artifacts are immune to the effects of dispel magic, disjunction, and are not suppressed in an antimagic field. Furthermore artifact weapons are treated as epic weapons for the purposes of bypassing damage reduction.

Artifacts cannot be crafted by PCs under normal circumstances.

Unique treasures are unusual magical or mundane items that have great significance in the course of a campaign. They lack the power of artifacts but may be equally important to the plot.
